Left Out

Not sure if I am being 'petty' or over-reacting. Here's the what..

Everyone had the stomach flu last week. Lots of upchucking and stuff. Fun fun.

The kids pillows were effected in various ways. I planned on washing them all. DH and my pillows are o.k., except he is a very sweaty sleeper and usually steals mine when his gets "uncomfortable".

Anyway DH came home from work and brought new pillows! I thought "Cool! We should get some fresh ones in here and rotate the oldies out"

He gives one to each of the boys and pulls out another for himself. He has covers for them all so they are water resistant and hypo allergenic, etc.

Me? Nothing. I did not even rank on the list of "needing" one. He said I could have all his old ones. THAT PISSED ME OFF!

I generally have a problem being 'left out' of things (childhood stuff ya know), but when your husband does it? I feel like crying almost. Over stupid pillows.

He asked me later if I was tired (mostly because I stopped talking to him). I told him that I did not like being left out. He called me spoiled.

HA! I wish! I want to be spoiled! It would be a nice change.

Am I being petty? Am I too needy? I am just sad.

My House is a MESS!

My House is a Mess,

It is SO dirty,

Underneath it all,

It could look so purty.

Socks on the lamps,

Kleenix on the floor,

A miasmic stench wafts through the door.

Oh I wish I was Martha,

or even Paula Dean,

because I am sure their houses are clean!

I am sleepy,

I have scrubbed and mopped,

If I close my eyes I am sure to stop.

But maybe when I open them,

this nightmare will stop......

Recipe

My mom gave me an old cookbook that belonged to my Great Grandma. There is a recipe for Caramel Pie. YUM!

Here it is:

One cup brown sugar, butter size of egg, set on stove and dissolve, cup hot water with TBS cornstarch dissolved, one tsp vanilla and yolks of two eggs; mix with the first part and cook till it thickens; fill shell and beat egg whites on top and brown.

Hmmmm, sounds good and inexpensive!!
